Thank you so much for supporting the PTA and all of our fall initiatives! We are so blessed to live in a community of generous, engaged families. I am thrilled to report that we met our fall fundraising goals for both Wish Night and No Sweat fundraisers! We have many more programs in the pipeline, but just one more big FUNdraiser in the spring–the Family Follies!, our 18th annual, hilarious, family-friendly variety show that benefits mental health and wellness programs at SPMS. If you have an interest in performing or helping out, please reach out to Cristen Zeisler or Charles Do. And don’t forget to shop at Vroman’s from 11/27 – 12/3 to support our library! PTA GENERAL MEETING & PARENT ED

On the agenda: electing the members of the Nominating Committee tasked with naming nominees for the 24-25 PTA executive board.
The Bullying Prevention Workshop for parents will immediately follow the PTA meeting, at approximately 6:45pm. Please see the flyer below and RSVP. The workshop is a timely complement to the bullying prevention and digital citizenship program that SPMS’s Train Your Brain team is currently delivering to classrooms. Parents, now is a good time to talk to your students about these topics. 6th and 7th graders have completed the program, and 8th graders will receive it next week.

For the second year in a row, the 8th graders have voted for a Universal Studios Grad Night adventure instead of a traditional promotion party. The trip will be on Friday May 3, 2024. Purchase a ticket and Learn More at spmspta.org/gradnight. Please purchase by December 1st.

I have a modest little book display set up at the library’s central round table. The table’s covered with an oatmeal colored tablecloth and has a couple of pumpkin themed runners criss-crossing over the top. If you squint your eyes and stand far away, it looks a little like a Thanksgiving table.
Like a Thanksgiving table, it’s covered in things that I love: books about cooking and books about families. It’s one of my favorite displays of the year and just so kids don’t think it’s only a decoration, I have my usual “Yes, you can check these books out!” sign taped to the bottom.

Please join the SPMS Music Boosters for a fundraiser event at Gus’s BBQ! This fundraiser supports the SPMS music programs as well as the 5th grade bands from all elementary schools.

⏰ Time: 11 am-10 pm
Special Instructions: You can choose to either participate by dining in or by ordering takeout over the phone/in person. No 3rd party delivery orders at this time. Just mention to your server or takeout host that you are supporting the SPMS Music Boosters fundraiser.
🎶 SPMS Winter Concert Series 🎶
Get ready for a delightful array of musical performances at the SPMS Auditorium this December! We’re excited to showcase the talents of our students, and we invite all students and families to join us for these musical celebrations.
The SPMS Music Boosters will also be having a bake sale during the winter concerts. Please consider contributing by signing up to bring baked goods or cups, or helping with setup, sales, or cleanup. If you’re interested in volunteering, please use the links below.
