3/7 (TUE) – ANNUAL ELECTION MEETING

Upcoming Annual Election Meeting – Tuesday March 7th

On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, the PTA will be holding a general association meeting, which will also serve as its annual election meeting. At the meeting, PTA members will be electing next year’s Executive Board.

Next week’s Newsletter will include the Executive Board candidate slate, as proposed by the PTA’s Nominating Committee.

 WIFFLE BALL TOURNAMENT
STARTS 1/27 (FRI) DURING LUNCH @SPMS

Mr. Lewis, Mrs. Williams and ASB are organizing a 9-on-9, Double Elimination Wiffle Ball Tournament that will start on 1/27! Please feel welcome to attend the games to watch your kids play (during lunch), and not just from outside the fence.  Sign in at the main office and get a visitor pass.  M-PACT PERFORMANCE
2/1 (WED) @SPMS

The PTA has teamed with ASB and the SPMS Music Boosters to bring the students a cultural assembly this week featuring m-pact, an acapella pop-jazz vocal group based in Los Angeles.  m-pact has 5 albums and 2 greatest hits albums, They will perform for all students, and students in choir will receive a Master Class. This program was organized by our Choir teacher Reinman who hopes this will inspire students to make music together, whether it’s singing or playing an instrument.

Introducing Brainfuse HelpNow!

The South Pasadena Public Library is now offering a new homework help resource that provides live real-time homework help, college prep resources, essay/writing assistance, and more. Beginning January 1, Brainfuse HelpNow will be replacing our current homework help resource Tutor.com. HelpNow is supported in whole or in part by funding provided by the State of California, administered by the California State Library.

Introducing LOTE4Kids!

LOTE4Kids is an online database of digital books in World Languages, that allows kids to enjoy the magic of books in LOTE (Languages Other Than English). Each book also comes with English translations to help kids learn languages. Some stories also have bilingual presentations as well as downloadable activity sheets. LOTE4Kids has over 2,000+ digital picture books in 50+ languages, with new books and languages released each month. A South Pasadena Public Library card is required to access this new online resource.

Meet at the field @ 3:00-4:30pm Mon/Wed

Competitive: 7th & 8th Grade Boys and Girls Soccer. Games begin at the end of the month.
