DEPRESSION: Maybe the Student Is Not Just Moody

The goal of this workshop is to help caregivers support and work more effectively with a child suffering from depression. Participants receive an overview of child and adolescent depression, learn how depression can impact school performance, and develop an understanding of treatment options. Presented by Jennifer Fightlin

WIFFLE BALL TOURNAMENT
STARTS 1/27 (FRI) DURING LUNCH @SPMS
Mr. Lewis, Mrs. Williams and ASB are organizing a 9-on-9, Double Elimination Wiffle Ball Tournament that will start on 1/27! Please feel welcome to attend the games to watch your kids play (during lunch), and not just from outside the fence. Sign in at the main office and get a visitor pass. SPMS PTA Executive Board Nominees

Rozanna Baranets – Sharing news from SP Public Library
The South Pasadena Public Library is now offering a new homework help resource that provides live real-time homework help, college prep resources, essay/writing assistance, and more. Beginning January 1, Brainfuse HelpNow will be replacing our current homework help resource Tutor.com. HelpNow is supported in whole or in part by funding provided by the State of California, administered by the California State Library.
LOTE4Kids is an online database of digital books in World Languages, that allows kids to enjoy the magic of books in LOTE (Languages Other Than English). Each book also comes with English translations to help kids learn languages. Some stories also have bilingual presentations as well as downloadable activity sheets. LOTE4Kids has over 2,000+ digital picture books in 50+ languages, with new books and languages released each month. A South Pasadena Public Library card is required to access this new online resource.

Competitive: 7th & 8th Grade Boys and Girls Soccer. Games begin at the end of the month.
